It was a goalfest in the rain at Mounthawk Park on Sunday as Ballyhar faced AC Athletic.

Ballyhar took an early lead in the very 1st minute when Mike Daly was put in on goal to finish well. 5 mins later James Horgan hit the 2nd to give Ballyhar a 2 goal lead. AC then settled into game and both teams had to defend well. But Ballyhar extended their lead once more as the ball fell kindly to Mike Daly on 22 to make it 0-3. AC created a few good chances and were awarded a penalty on 26 mins. Trevor O’Shea saved well, only to see ref point to spot again, which was AC converted to make it 1-3. AC got a confidence boost from that goal and began to push forward more, which saw them score again with 12mins to go in the half. Ballyhar found themselves on the rack at thi s point as AC kept the pressure on. And with just minutes to go until halftime AC got their 3rd to square it up at halftime. H/T 3-3

The 2nd half saw both defences on top until John Power put a ball in for James Horgan on 70 mins to put Ballyhar back in front. Now it was Ballyhar with all the confidence and combined well for their 5th goal, when the ball fell to Horgan who played in Mike Daly for gis Hat-trick to make it 3-5. Another penalty was given to AC which was saved again by O'Shea and then re-spotted once more only to be saved yet again by Trevor. Still 3-5. AC score from a free with 5 mins to go 4-5. With James Horgan finished the scoring and grabbing his hat-trick to secure the win.
