The first half went well for Ballyhar with both teams defenses playing very well. Chances were few and far between, but Ballyhar did finally break the deadlock when a well taken shot from outside the box by Mike Daly found the bottom corner. Ballyheigue were given a chance to level the scoreline on the stroke of halftime when they were awarded a penalty, but it was saved by Maurice O'Donaghue. H/T 1-0        

Ballyheigue came out with more intent in the 2nd half and immediately put Ballyhar under pressure. They pushed our defence deep and got their reward 15mins into the half. Ballyhar conceded a 2nd 5mins later but after that played their way back into the game again. We created a few good chances and sshould really have equalised but it just wasn’t to be. F/T 1-2

Luke Henderson played well on his senior debut (youth) and is a great addition to the senior squad. Best for Ballyha were Alan Moriarty, Daragh Donughue, John Power, Dan O'Shea and Patrick O'Connor.
