Played at mounthawk park on Saturday night, MEK took the points in an entertaining game. Ballyhar played second best early on in the possession stakes and MEK took the lead on 30 minutes with a low drive to the net. Ger Fitzgerald equalised on 40 minutes with a low shot from a tight angle. On the stoke of half time a Mike Daly run was impeded on the edge of the box but the subsequent free kick was cleared.

The second half was even in possession with Mike Daly going close on 55 minutes with a low shot accross the keepers body after good approach work by maurice o Donoghue. MEK took the lead on 70 minutes when a long range shot hit the net and late on in Ballyhars effort to seek an equaliser a deflected clearance made it's way accross the line to seal the points for MEK.

Overall it was a game having less of the ball in the first half , Ballyhar may have got something out of. The effort of the 15 togged for Ballyhar cannot be faulted. Speedy recovery to the three players carrying knocks & best wishes to Peter on st. Patrick's day with st brendans college.
