SFAI U15 National Cup Rd 4: Moneygall FC 3 Ballyhar Dynamos 8

Our U15's travelled to take on Moneygall in the 4th round of the National Cup.

Playing against the trying conditions in the 1st half, the lads settled well and took the lead on two occasions, only for a determined Moneygall to get back on level terms on each occasion. With a few minutes to go before half time, Diarmuid Casey popped up in the Moneygall box to finish well, despite the best efforts of the Moneygall keeper. Half-time Ballyhar went in 3:2 up.

The next goal was crucial and it was Ballyhar who got it and really pushed on from there. In the second half, the lads played some excellent football. The two Ryan's were a threat all day, and they were well supported in attack by Dylan Fitzgerald, Jamie Murphy, Jack Kelly and Diarmuid Casey.

At the back, Eoin, Dàire, Brendàn and Jamie O'Brien were effective and assured in front of Daniel Duggan in goals. It was an excellent team performance by all the panel, with Alan Morteck, Adam Fleming and Sean O'Leary providing excellent energy in the second half. Goal scorers on the day were Ryan Quilter (2), Dylan Fitzgerald, Diarmuid Casey, Jamie Murphy, with Man of the Match going to Ryan Vickers for his hattrick and all round team performance. F/T 8-3 to Ballyhar

Thanks to Moneygall for the hospitality and sporting game. Best wishes for the season ahead. Also, thanks to Liam for transporting the lads on the day.

The team are now into the last 32 of the National Cup, which is well deserved by this group of lads.
