Our U12 girls played their last game of the season on Sunday against a very strong Killarney Celtic side.
Missing a few key players the girls were up against it from the start but showed great courage and determination throughout the game. Maria Scanlon gave a player of the match performance in midfield with mazy runs and relentless chasing of the ball. Upfront Mollie O'Connor and Sophie O'Brien worked tirelessly and were supported in midfield by Joanna Cronin, Emma O'Callaghan, Anna-Kate Daly, Faye O'Brien and the aforementioned Maria Scanlon. In defence the trio Kate O'Connor, Anna Fitzgerald and Emily O'Callaghan were resolute in the face of ongoing attacks from the Celtic team. In Goal, Aoibhinn Daly made some fine saves and her kick outs worked well.
All in all a hard working performance from the Ballyhar girls which fell short of getting a result, but like they have done all season, they did the club and themselves proud.
