U13 Cup Ballyhar B 1 - Iveragh B 3

Ballyhar Dynamos B entertained Iveragh B in an early morning kick off at Murt Scott Park on Saturday in the Under 13 boys John Joe Naughton cup.

The Ballyhar boys lined out with Adam Quirke in goal whose distribution was fantastic all game. A back four of Diarmuid Fitzgerald making his first start at this level, Eoin Cremin ,Daragh O Sullivan and Joshua O Sullivan who all defended well. The midfield was made up of Daragh Mclaughlin the hard tackling Ruari Casey, Brendan Flynn and Elliot Lyne with his excellent passing throughout. Rian Comerford and Captain Charlie Curran lead from the front with sub Bryan Evans, playing up front and right wing to give Ballyhar a direct attacking threat with his speed and ball control.

It was a game of two halves where Ballyhar controlled the play for long spells in the first 30 minutes but could not convert their chances, with Iveragh more clinical on the break with speed up front and on the wings. Despite having the lions share of the ball,  Ballyhar found themselves behind 0-3 at half time.

Ballyhar went again and pressed hard with chance after chance hitting the post or going into the keeper's hands in the opening minutes of the second half. The boys kept their heads high and finally hit the back of the net on 40 mins when Brendan Flynn won a tackle in midfield and released Brian Evans down the left. Evans played a through pass into Charlie Curran who dribbled into the box and finished to the keeper's left. Charlie has now hit 4 in the last four games and is a striker who has found form in the blue of Ballyhar. This pattern of the game continued, with Ballyhar creating chance after chance but could not get the goals their play deserved. F/T Ballyhar Dynamos B 1 -3 Iveragh B.

Player of the match Eoin Cremin  With improvement shown in every game Ballyhar can now reflect as the seasons closes to a fourth place finish in the league and have a knockout shield competition yet to come that to boys will go into with confidence .
