U13 Premier Division: Ballyhar 5 - MEK 0

U13 Premier Division: Ballyhar 5 - MEK 0

Our U13's got their first points of the season on Saturday afternoon with a very strong team display against MEK.

The visitors started well and had the better of the opening exchanges as Ballyhar took a while to settle. Once they did, they got on top and controlled the game. The opening goal was scored by Daniel Ryan, who finished well inside a crowded MEK box following a cross from Patrick O'Connor. The 2nd goal came from another set piece with Fionn Clifford putting a fine ball over the MEK defence from inside his own half, with Alex Finn finishing it to the net. MEK had some nice passages of play, and only for a fine save from Noah Browne, kept them from scoring in the first half. H/T 2-0

Ballyhar started the 2nd half well, and when Finn struck a volley into the roof of the net straight from a corner by Adam Fleming, they never looked back. O'Connor then got on the scoresheet when his deep cross from the left sailed over the MEK keeper and into the net to make it 4-0. Killian O'Sullivan rounded off the scoring for Ballyhar to end a fine display by our lads in Blue. F/T 5-0

It was hard to pick out any man of the match for Ballyhar today, such was the great teamwork and solid performances from 1 to 13. Well done to all the lads today.
