In trying conditions, Ballyhar hosted Killorglin on Saturday morning at Murt Scott Park.
Playing with the conditions in the 1st half, Ballyhar created a number of excellent chances early on and it was Adam Fleming who fired Ballyhar in front after excellent work down the right, he fired in a cross, which, in the conditions, decieved the Killorglin keeper and nestled in the back of the net. Ballyhar created a number of other chances across the half with Ryan Vickers and Ryan Quilter to the fore, and Jamie Murphy going close. Unfortunately, we could not make them count and went in at the half one goal to yhe good. H/T 1-0
The second half saw the tables turned on Ballhar and were swiftly undone by giving away two frees within a 5 minute period and within shooting distance of the Ballyhar goal. With the strong breeze now favoring the visitors, both frees were launched into the Ballyhar box and both found their way to the back of the net. Needng a response Ballyhar made changes and tried to push on to get back on terms. But a rejuvenated Killorglin had the bit between their teeth and didn't let Ballyhar back into the game. Killorglin them got their 3rd goal late on to pu the game to bed. F/T 1-3
Well done to Killorglin, who took their chances on the day. We dust ourselves down and go again.
Best on day for Ballyhar were Gearoid Moynihan, Jack Kelly, Jamie O Brien, Adam Fleming, and M.O.M Daire Cornally
