A tough start for the lads in very trying conditions in Camp on Thursday evening against well organised and talented home side. The scoreline doesn't do our lads justice for what was a great effort in torrential rain and playing into a strong breeze in the 1st half.
They were 4-0 down at the break despite having decent possession and playing some nice football, creating 1 or 2 chances. They started the 2nd half better and created more chances to get on the scoresheet but Camp's counter attacking kept paying dividends while our boys struggled to apply the finishing touch.
Good work from Davin Quilter cutting in from the left was rewarded with a consolation goal in the final 10 minutes, with all members of the squad getting a run out. There was plenty of bright spots and good play from our lads across the 70 mins and they kept fighting till the end. We have no doubt better days lay ahead for our U14's.
