Ballyhar made the journey to a wet and windy Feinit on a Sunday evening and came away empty handed against a tough home side. Both teams cancelled each other out during the frist third of the game with few chances created by either side. But in the space of 5 mins Feinit took a foothold in the game that they never relinquished. Fenit scored their first on 35 mins and their second quickly followed 5 mins later to make it 2-0 at the short whistle. H/T 2-0
Feinit started the 2nd half where they finished the 1st putting Ballyhar under pressure all over the field. Patrick O'Connor had a great chance to make it 2-1 but the Feinit keeper pulled off a good save to deny him. After that it was all the home side as Ballyhar struggled to deal with the strength and physicality Feinit brought to the game adding another goal to scoreline on 70 mins left to make it 3-0. In another blow for Ballyhar, centre-back Ger Fitzgerald was involved in a bad collision, getting an accidental bang to the head and he had to come off from after having a super game in defence. After the restart Feinit added 2 more goals to make it 5-0 at full time.
Players that did well for Ballyhar included Luke Ring, Dan O’Shea, Michael O’Sullivan, Declan O’Connor and Shane O’Sullivan. Best of luck to Feinit on the season ahead.
