An away trip for our U13s today ended their run in the National Cup. Playing against the breeze in the first half Ballyhar didn't settle into the game early and absorbed a lot of pressure from the home side in the opening ten minutes. Moneygall continued to dominate possession and on 13 minutes took the lead from a failed clearance inside the Ballyhar box. 1-0. Ballyhar continued to look nervous and on 20 min from a failed clearance inside the box we conceded again 2-0 to the home side. Ballyhar eventually settled and grew into the game with Ogie Griffin, Adam Fleming, Dylan Fitzgerald and Shane Edwards coming to life. Gearoid Moynihan had an excellent free kick just denied with a fantastic top corner save from the home keeper. Ballyhar pulled one back in the 27th minute through Adam Fleming who beat the Moneygall defender down the right and unleashed a shot which the home keeper got a hand to but could not keep out. 2:1 Ht

Playing with the breeze in the second half and with the introduction of Adam O Meara and Alex Finn, Ballyhar set out for the equaliser. Most of the second half was played in the Moneygall half as Ballyhar pushed and pushed. Shots from Ryan Vickers, Adam O Meara and Alex Finn failed the beat the Moneygall keeper. Two late Ballyhar corners created a nail biting finish to this encounter but credit must go to the Moneygall defence who had a very busy second half but held out for the win.
