Ballyhar got off to a great start and took the lead 10mins in when Luke Ring took his chance well and looked likely to score again. We then conceded 2 quick goals from a very well taken header and a strike from edge of box put athletic into lead. Ballyhar had an excellent chance to make it 2-2 only to see a defender get back and clear it off the line. With 5 minutes of the half left athletic struck again to make it 3-1 at the break

Ballyhar started the 2nd half brightly and had a few good chances to pull 1 back, only to get caught on the break. Keeper Patrick o Connor came out and made a good attempt to get the ball only to concede a penalty which was converted to make it 4-1. Ballyhar never gave in and pushed to get back into game and got rewarded for their efforts with 15 mins to go when Luke Ring got his 2nd. Ballyhar after that had 4 great chances to reduce the score but wasn’t to be yet again. Finished 4-2 with great efforts put in by both teams and on another day the score could have been different. Well played to all the lads who made game possible.
