U12 Boys Division 1: Fenit 1 - Ballyhar Dynamos 0

In a very tense and exciting match in Ardfert, Ballyhar ended the game on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline against the league leaders.

Ballyhar started strongly, and dominated large parts of the first half. Through some tough tackling, and excellent passing and moving, the majority of the game was played in Fenits half. Ollie Kirwan kept his defense organised and led with example as he won tackle after tackle, snuffing out any danger Fenit presented on the counter attack.

Ballyhar had the lion's share of the attacking chances in the first half, including one goal-line scramble, where the whole ball was adjudged not to have crossed the line.

Half time 0-0

Fenit came out fighting for the second half, and Ballyhar rode their luck on a number of occasions, where a combination of good goalkeeping by Adam Quirke and then Josh Nelligan, or the post kept the scores at 0-0.

Finally, the pressure told, and through some intricate passing play, the Fenit striker broke the Ballyhar defensive line and slotted into the bottom corner. 1-0.

Ballyhar didn't let their heads drop, and pushed hard for the equaliser. A penalty shout went unanswered as Rian Comerford went down after clashing with a defender in the box, and soon after a snap shot from Comerford went flying past the bottom left corner.

Unfortunately, Ballyhar couldn't force the equaliser, despite their heroic efforts.

Full time 1-0

Well done to all of the players, who worked hard throughout, and showed excellent progress as we approach the last competitive game of the season.
