U12 Division 1: Ballyhar Dynamos 2 Inter Kenmare 1

Our U12's had to dig deep against a tough Inter Kemare side at Murt Scott Park on Saturday morning to continue their unbeaten league run and stay top of the table. Missing a few key players, Ballyhar started solid and focused on not giving any chances away to a Kenmare side who also had not lost this season. Both sides were still sussing each other out when Ballyhar got the breakthrough after 12 mins. The excellent Daithi Allen pumped a header forward to Alex Finn, who was given time to turn, take a touch, and then strike a long-range effort into the bottom corner. That goal gave them confidence, as they kept Kenmare under pressure for most of the half. Joshua O'Sullivan did very well at Right Back with Cillian O'Sullivan on the far side, also causing problems with his runs from deep. Kenmare changed things up in midfield, and Ballyhar needed to hold the ball more. Up stepped Adam Fleming, who's all round play was excellent in and out of possession, and constantly won free kicks and corners to pin Kenmare back. H/T 1-0

The away side kept on coming and always looked dangerous, but Allen and Fionn Clifford were brilliant at the back, while Noah Browne showed a safe pair of hands from some long-range efforts. Kenmare would eventually get an equaliser 10 mins into the 2nd half when a run to the endline was cut back for the left winger to slot home. The teams were cancelling each other out at this stage with the ball going end to end. Clifford saw his nice header go just wide from a Fleming free-kick while Cillian O'Sullivan was unlucky to see a great chance saved by the Kenmare keeper. With just 5 minutes remaining, Fleming threw in 1 final corner from the left towards the front post, where Luke Bartlett had just made a run and glanced it into the Kenmare net. The lads held on for a vital 3 points against a strong Kenmare side who gave us a very good game.

The win sees Ballyhar clear at the top of Division 1 with 2 games remaining. All the lads put in a great shift with special mentions for Joshua O'Sullivan, Daithi Allen, and MOTM - Adam Fleming.
