Our U14's continued their unbeaten run in Division 1 with a good win away to Killorglin B on Saturday. Ballyhar started the game well and took the lead in the 1st minute, when Daniel Downes fired the ball home. Ryan Quilter then took a corner in the 4th minute that was met by Aaron Moriarty's head to give the killorglin keeper no chance. Ballyhar eased off a bit after that and from Killorglin’s first real attack they pulled a goal back with a well taken shot on 8 mins. But Ballyhar replied quickly with Conor Edwards adding a 3rd goal which took the wind out of Killorglin's sails. Moriarty scored his 2nd on 17mins, Isaac Vickers on 19 and then Daire Cornally completed the 1st half scoring for Ballyhar giving them a commanding 6-1 lead at the break.
In the 2nd half, Ballyhar passed the ball more and controlled the game well. Moriarty looked for his Hat-trick, trying his luck from distance, which was deflected passed the keeper by his own player. He wasn’t quite finished and really wanted that 3rd goal which he got 15 mins from time.
The final score 8-1 was testament to a side missing a number of player, with a few U13’s stepping up to the mark. A special mention has to go to them for making the squad complete: Ryan Quilter, Daire Cornally and Shane Edwards.
A great team pperformance and strengthens there position at the top of the table. Well done lads.
