U12 Division 1: Ferry Rangers 1 - Ballyhar A 2

It proved to be a productive trip to the Seaside on Saturday, as Ballyhar kept up their winning streak, making it Four wins on the bounce in an extremely tight entertaining game against Ferry Rangers.

The early exchanges in the Sunshine were fairly even with both sides testing out each other on a challenging surface .The game was end to end till Ballyhar broke the deadlock, Jack Cooper carrying the ball through from midfield and through the Rangers defence before letting fly with a fine shot beyond the diving goalkeeper to make it 1-0 to Ballyhar.
This was a lead they would take into the second half due to some fine work from Cole Buckley, Paddy Hurley ,Dermot Nealon in Defence and Goalkeeper Gavin Sheehan.
Halftime 0-1

The second half was a tight affair with alot of play out wide. Jack Sheehy, Bryan Evans and Fabien Mrotek were all superb in midfield as Ballyhar pushed forward looking for another goal. Unfortunately Ferry Rangers scored and drew the game level with Ballyhar nearly conceding a second, when a shot cannoned down from underneath of the crossbar and luckily bounced back into play.
That scare was just the motivation Ballyhar needed as they went in search of the winner.
A free kick just outside the Ferry Rangers area was floated over perfectly by Bryan Evans and Fabien Mrotek was there with a fantastic header into the Rangers net. 1-2 Tadgh Fitzgerald had come close on a couple of occasions for Ballyhar, but they were well worth their lead. Dylan O'Sullivan and Diarmuid Sheehy both came on to play their part in a fantastic team performance with Ballyhar showing yet again they can dig in deep away from home and take the three points.
Final Score: Ferry Rangers 1

So many played well for Ballyhar today but Cole Buckley put in a man of the match performance at the back with some fine defending.
We would like to thank our opponents Ferry Rangers for their hospitality today and wish them well for the remainder of the season.
