U14 Division 1: Camp Juniors 3 - Ballyhar 7

Our U14's kept their unbeaten record intact with a good win away from home on Saturday.
The 1st half was a very scrappy affair with Ballyhar playing against a strong wind and well below par. The opening goal was far from scrappy, as Adam Fleming took a corner from the left, which was only half cleared. The ball came back to Fleming, who struck a great shot over the keeper. 1-0 Ballyhar. Camp then sprung into the game with 2 goals in 5 mins to rock Ballyhar. Both goals came from forcing turnovers in midfield and working it through the middle. Un-shook, Ballyhar kept plugging away, none more so than Ruben O'Leary Griffin, who covered the left wing very well. And when Fleming played him through with a nice ball, Ruben smashed it inside the post just before halftime. H/T 2-2

With the wind now with Ballyhar and a good chat at the break, the lads came out fighting in the 2nd half. Set-pieces came to the fore this half, with Killian O'Sullivan getting his first when a corner wasn't cleared and Daniel Ryan keeping it alive before Killian struck to the net. 2-3 Then it was centre-back Eoin Cremin's turn as he got his head to an excellent corner from Fleming to make it 2-4 to Ballyhar. Fleming then scored his 2nd before Jack Duggan hit a cracking strike from outside the box to make it 2-6. Camp pulled one back through a great headed set-piece that finished in the top corner. But the last word went to Ballyhar as Killian got his 2nd of the game. F/T 3-7

It took a while for the lads to get going, and to be fair to Camp, the 2 forced defensive changes at halftime, did make a difference. We had some very good performances all over the field, with special mentions to Aaron Looney, Ruben O'Leary Griffin, and MOTM Adam Fleming.
