Our U12's kept their unbeaten run intact with a strong showing against LB Rovers on Saturday afternoon. The lads did well against a fiesty home side who never really threatened Noah Brownes' goal all game.
Alex Finn settled the nerves in the opening quarter of the game, grabbing 2 goals inside the first 15 mins. His 2nd, being the pick of the bunch, lifting the ball over the keeper following some great work by Luke Bartlett and Cilliian O'Sullivan. Bartlett was at the center of all the action today, taking up great positions in midfield and making good use of the ball throughout. Patrick O'Connor and Adam Fleming also caused problems for the Rovers defence, with their keeper playing very well to keep the score down. H/T 0-2
The 2nd half started very scrappy, with LB Rovers trying to make headway down the Ballyhar right. Daithi Allen was well up for the task, as was Eoin Cremin, who made an impact off the bench. Ballyhar eventually regained their shape, and when Callum Templeman set O'Sullivan free down the left, he ran straight at the keeper and slotted in the 3rd goal into the far corner. Ballyhar nearly had a 4th when Daniel Ryan was set up by good work from O'Connor, but the Rovers keeper made a great save to deny him. That was the way it finished, and it was a strong showing from the lads against a tough LB Rovers side.
All the lads deserve credit for a very convincing performance, but Luke Bartlett was simply outstanding in midfield.
