U12 DIVISION 1 SOUTH: BALLYHAR WHITE 4 - KILLARNEY CELTIC B 1

Ballyhar welcomed Celtic to Murt Scott Park on a windy Saturday morning but this didnt stop Ballyhar putting a great team performance was on show.

Ballyhar started the brighter of the two teams, holding most of the early possession and nearly taking the lead in the 2nd minute only for the Celtic keeper pulling off an excellent save.

Ballyhar got their reward in the 11th minute, when Dan Duggan took a quick kick out to Jamie O Brien who played a high ball down the right wing over the Celtic midfield for Ryan Quilter to run onto, Quilter squared the ball across the Celtic box for the oncoming Dylan Fitzgerald to rattle it home.1-0 Ballyhar

After this, Celtic enjoyed a little more possession and in the 22nd minute after a failed clearance from the Ballyhar backline inside their own box, an opportunity fell to the Celtic man who made no mistake to make it 1-1.

The Ballyhar boys kept their heads up and within a minute(23rd minute) Quilter had the ball in the back of the net. 2-1 Ballyhar

Ballyhar struck again two minutes later (25th minute) when Jack Kelly played a lovely through ball for Quilter to run onto and he buried it to make it 3-1.

The second half saw Celtic start well and had a great chance to close the gap with a one on one opportunity against the ballyhar keeper but the chance was pulled just wide.

Ballyhar also created a number of chances in the 2nd half, Adam O Meara rattled the post, Shane Edwards and Ogie Griffin also creating efforts  but the Celtic defense stood up well.

Ballyhar put the game to bed 9 minutes from time when Quilter went around 2 Celtic defenders and slotted the ball home to make it 4-1.

Thanks to Killarney Celtic for a great game.

A solid performance by the whole Ballyhar team but man of the match has to go to the hat-trick scoring Ryan Quilter.
