On their maiden outing the girls were unbelievable.

Playing at home against a very physical and strong Camp side our girls showed great heart and determination. The defensive trio of Kate O Connor, Anna Fitzgerald (capt) and Seoidin Scanlan were rock solid and never really looked exposed. On the rare occasion any attacks the did get through Emma O Callaghan was brave and reliable, making just a couple of saves in the game.

The energetic midfield triumvirate of Niamh O Sullivan, Lucy Wynne and Leah Cooper worked endlessly covering every blade of grass. They hassled and pressurised the Camp players on the ball giving them no time to play.

Up front Ella Regan and Grace O Sullivan kept the defenders honest and doubled as midfielders when we didn’t have position.
Lucy Wynne got the winner with a nice side footed finish in the bottom corner following relentless pressure from midfield.

Subs: Eimear Spring, Emily O Neill, Faye O Brien, Ruby O Connor, Leanne Collins and Aoibhinn Daly all played and made an impact on the big pitch when asked.

All in all, very proud of the girls who gave a brilliant performance and never stopped working.
