The score doesn’t really reflect the game, but our U12 girls did not have their best day out saturday. Missing half the squad for various reasons, Ballyhar just had enough players to play and were under pressure from the off conceding 2 early goals that rocked the confidence. The hard fought battle in a crowded midfield didn’t go our way and two more goals scored by Killorglin before the break. H/T 0-4
After Half time Ballyhar fought bravely and a quick exchange of goals left the score 6-1 after about 55 mins with Lucy Wynne finishing neatly after a long solo run. At this point the energy seeped out of the girls and Killorglin took advantage by piling on the pressure tagging on 3 more late goals.
The lack of fresh legs off the bench to refresh the team didn’t help the girls, but plaudits go to Killorglin who were the better team on the day. Best for Ballyhar were Emily O Callaghan, Kate O Connor and Ruby O Connor.
