Our U15's got another 3 points on the road Saturday afternoon against Inter Kenmare B. With both teams missing some players, it was always going to be a scrappy affair. Jim O'Dowd made some great early running before picking up a knock from a tough Kenmare defence. Ballyhar applied plenty of pressure with Ross Lally and Davin Quilter going close before the deadlock was finally broken. Lally put in a corner that wasn't cleared by Kenmare and Conrad Long was there to dispatch it to the net. Despite further pressure and a few decent chances, Kenmare defended well to make sure it was just 1 goal in the difference at the break. H/T 0-1
With changes made at the break, Ballyhar kept driving forward and when the referee spotted a handball in the Kenmare box in the 45min he pointed to the spot. Conrad Long stepped up and calmly slotted it home for his 2nd goal of the game. Kenmare tried to catch us on the break as the lads wemt in search of more goals, but Eoin O'Mahony had little to trouble him in goals thanks to some good defending. The final goal came from a deft touch by Marcus Clifford, who lobbed the keeper from just outside the box after the ball was played over tge top by Jamie Quirke.
The lads did well against an under strength Kenmare side who to their credit fought hard all game. Best for Ballyhar were the 2 Goal scorers Conrad Long and Marcus Clifford along with Jamie Quirke and Ross Lally.
