Our U13 A squad hosted LB Rovers in Murt Scott Park for a 3pm kickoff.
The game started well for Ballyhar with some good movement and penetrating runs causing LB a few nervous moments. However, this was to prove as good as it got for Ballyhar as energy levels were low and LB turned the tables going ahead after 17 mins.
Ballyhar battled bravely with the back 5 of Adam Quirke in goal, Liam Smyth, Ollie Kirwan, Lorcan o Mahony and Tomas Flatherty repelling numerous attacks from a pacy LB front line.
In midfield Ruairi Casey and Jack Duggan were battling for everything with Darragh McLaughlin and Brian McMahon on the wings working hard. Elliot Lyne came on to bring more energy into the midfield and had some good interplay with the forwards.
Up front it just wasn’t happening for Tomás Bolger and Josh Nelligan who gave it their all today against a solid and physically big LB defence.
LB made it 2-0 after 40mins after a powerful run and clinical finish from their winger.
Ballyhar fought back and won several corners eventually scoring from one when the hard working Lorcan O Mahony headed home from a Brian McMahon corner. However, they left the comeback too late and just ran out of time.
Final score 2-1 to LB Rovers
