Our U13 B team traveled to our neighbours MEK Galaxy for this Div 2 fixture. A great squad turned out with 16 players all getting game time. Ballyhar dominated proceedings from the off having the lion's share of the possession. They took the lead at the 15 minute mark, when Killian O'Sullivan got onto a breaking ball from midfield and found himself one on one with the MEK keeper, spotting a well timed run from Alex Kelly, he deftly passed the ball into his path to slot into the empty net. Ballyhar kept on the pressure and when a beautiful corner from Fionn Clifford found the head of his fellow centre back Alan Mrotek, who's well placed header beating the keeper, but the woodwork came to MEK's rescue with the ball coming off the right hand post. Ballyhar kept pushing forward and on 25 minutes a great pass from Jack O'Leary on the left wing found Killian O'Sullivan, who this time rounded the keeper and slotted home. 2-0 at half time.
The rain came down for the 2nd half and while Ballyhar maintained the upper hand they were unlucky not to score more in what were difficult underfoot conditions given the state of the field. MEK rallied late in the game but could not beat the Ballyhar defence who dug deep to keep the score at 2-0. It was a fantastic squad effort from all involved, with best on the day Killian O'Sullivan, Alan Mrotek, Oran Lesley and Fionn Clifford.
