Our U17's played in wet and slippery conditions on Saturday afternoon when they welcomed a good Iveragh United team to Murt Scott Park. After a bright start, Ballyhar fell behind from a set-piece, when Iveragh found the net after swinging in a corner on 20 minutes. The lads fought back well and equalised on the stroke of halftime from a set-piece of their own, as a Robert Kelly free-kick found the head of Gearoid Quirke who dispatched it to the net. H/T 1-1

Iveragh started the 2nd have strong and took control of the game and managed to hit the back of the Ballyhar net twice, 1 from another corner and the other by way of an unfortunate own goal. Ballyhar did get one back to narrow the gap and ensure a grandstand finish when Colm O'Sullivan another corner taken by Micheal O'Sullivan. The lads came close a few times but just couldn't get the equaliser. Best on the day for Ballyhar were Damien O'Connor, Jack Dicker, Eoin Walshe and our stand-in goalkeeper Sean O'Sullivan was excellent.
