Our U14's took faced Premier opposition on Tuesday evening at Murt Scott Park when they took on Killarney Celtic. The team was missing a few key players and the tight squad in Blue did themselves proud.
The pitch was in excellent condition despite a bad week of rain to give both teams a good playing surface. Ballyhar were under a little pressure at start of game but held their own well with good defending and superb goal keeping to keep Celtic at bay in the 1st half. H/T 0-0
The deadlock was broken 5 mins into the 2nd half when Celtic broke through our back line and their striker was 1 on 1 with keeper Kianan Cronin who pulled off another great save, only to see the ball fall to another Celtic player who fired to the back of the net. Ballyhar kept the heads and pushed on for an equalisers, only to get hit on break 5 mins from time to give Killarney Celtic a 2-0 win.
It was a great performance from the 11 lads on the field and it was the first loss our U14's have had all season. They did Ballyhar proud against a good Premier side.
