Our lads put in a hard shift today against a good strong Mastergeeha side. We started off strong and even took the lead 6 mins in when Conrad Long got his head on the end of a cross from Anthony Cremin after some good work from John Henderson. Mastergeeha then made all the running as they threatened down both wings creating a good few chances. They managed to take one of those chances on 15 mins to equalise and were unlucky not to score again quickly after, when a looping header just cleared the bar. Ballyhar struggled to get in behind the Mastergeeha defence and then went behind in very unlucky circumstances. A long hopeful effort looked to be safely heading for Eoin O'Mahony's gloves but took a nasty bounce right in front of him and went over his shoulder into the net. We went in 1-2 down at halftime.
Despite our best efforts, Mastergeeha just proved too strong for us in the 2nd half scoring 2 goals from close range after some tricky footwork and a few missed tackles. Eoin O'Mahony made some super saves to keep the score at 4-1 before Ross Lally decided to have a crack 30 yards out from goal and saw his shot nestle in the top corner just out of reach of the Mastergeeha keeper.
At 2-4 Jayden Foley and Daniel Gleeson got stuck in and made an impact off the bench but Mastergeeha got the final say in the game with a 5th goal 5 mins from full time.
