A top of table clash today at Fossa, as the undefeated teams in Div 1 South met. Ballyhar proved stronger on the day.

Game was played in tough conditions and Ballyhar settled early putting good pressure on the MEK defense in early stages of game. This was rewarded with a goal after 12 minutes, put home clinically by Adam O Meara, after determined play by Ryan Quilter creating the chance. MEK rallied and were very dangerous on the break however the Ballyhar defense remained resolute and Ballyhar went in at half time one up.

Playing against the hill in second half, Ballyhar had to soak up alot of pressure, however the trio of Fionn Clifford, Daire Cornally and Geroid Moynihan in back line  were equal to all efforts.  Ballyhar held out well and created a number of further chances. One of which came with 5 minutes remaining. A move down right side with a ball played through by Georoid Moynihan to Ryan Quilter. Ryan look on and beat a number of MEK defenders to pass unselfishly across goal where Dylan Fitzgerald popped up to finish well.

This was a great team effort with all 12 players who lined out playing a valued role. Along with those mentioned, best for Ballyhar on day were Shane Edwards, Dylan Fitzgerald and man of match Sean Griffin O Leary.
