U14 Premier Result: Inter Kenmare 0 - Ballyhar 4

An early away trip to Kenmare for our U14 A boys on Saturday morning turned out to be a fruitful one in this Premier Division match up.

Having faced each other in the cup last time out, Ballyhar looked to settle into the game early and looked dangerous, creating a number of chances in the opening 35 mins. The deadlock was broken on 20mins when Dylan Fitzgerald played a lovely ball over the top, which found Ryan Quilter who controlled it and made no mistake, dispatching it to the net 0-1. Ballyhar extended their lead 5 min before halftime when Fitzgerald, switched the play from right to left finding the advancing Brendàn Allman who finished into the far corner of the net to get his first goal for Ballyhar. H/T 0-2

Kenmare came out all guns blazing to start the second half and really took the game to Ballyhar. They created a number of decent chances, hitting the post with one shot and pulling the best out of keeper Daniel Duggan who did excellent to make a point blank save. The back four of Casey, O'Brien, Cornally & Templeman were resolute in what was a busy 2nd half for them. As the game wore on, Ballyhar found their rhythm and looked dangerous again on the counter. The all important 3rd goal came when creator became goalscorer, as Quilter played in Dylan Fitzgerald, who calmly finished passed the advancing keeper to make it 0-3. The scoring was rounded off when an excellent ball from Diarmuid Casey found Quilter, who finished well from outside the box. FT 0-4

It was a great team performance with chances being created from all over the pitch with solid defending when required.
Man of the match had to be Dylan Fitzgerald for an outstanding display and involvement in 3 of the 4 goals scored.
