Our U15 Premier team got in 1 last game before the Christmas break, as they travelled to Kenmare to take on an inform Inter Kenmare team.
From the off, the lads settled well and created a number of good chances. It was not until halfway through the 1st half that Ballyhar were rewarded for their early dominant play. Ryan Quilter finished well after the ball came back off the cross bar from a Jamie Murphy shot. Kenmare came into the game and looked threatening on a number of occasions. There were further chances created by Ballyhar. However, a mixture of hitting the post and good Kenmare goalkeeping kept the score at 0:1 to Ballyhar at the break.HH/T 0-1
Inter Kenmare came out of blocks at the start of the second half. However, the Ballyhar defence of Brendán Allman, Adam, Fleming, Dáire Cornally and Eoin Casey dealt with the early pressure well, assisted by Daniel Duggan, who was assured in goals. Ballyhar were to score again with a screamer from Jamie Murphy, who switched the ball from left to right before unleashing a 30 yarder into the Kenmare net. 0-2 Kenmare rallied, and after good work down the left, they finished to the Ballyhar net. However, it was Ballyhar who would finish the stronger with Dairmuid Casey playing in Ryan Vickers who finished well from a tight angle, before Ryan Quliter got his second of the day to make it 1-4. With time almost up, Kenmare got their second goal after working the ball in from the right. F/T 2-4
Thanks to Inter Kenmare for a sporting game and ref Tom Kerrisk.
This was a great team effort by all the panel, all of whom can be proud of their efforts today. Special mention for Dylan Fitzgerald (Captain today), Ryan Vickers, Jamie Murphy, and Adam Fleming. But the man of match goes to Ryan Quilter for his overall play today.
