U15 Premier result: Ballyhar 4 MEK 5

Ballyhar started the game a bit shaky in the Saturday morning sunshine against MEK and fell behind to an early goal. That brought Ballyhar to life and they settled into game after that and got a well deserved equaliser, when Ryan Vicker’s cross was met by Daniel Downes. MEK didn't waste time fighting back and scored 2mins later from the spot to make it 2-1 to the visitors. Then just before half time Ballyhar got another equaliser with the same combination of Vickers & Downes, to give Daniel his 2nd of the game. H/T 2-2

Ballyhar started the brighter in the 2nd half when Kealan Riordan struck from outside the box to give Ballyhar the lead. Daniel Downes then grabbed his hat-trick when he was on the end of another superb cross from Ryan Quilter to make it 4-2. Ballyhar had 1 outfield sub in warm conditions and with MEK making substitutes their fresh legs began to take charge of the game with 15 mins to go. As Ballyhar tired, MEK struck 3 goals without reply, with the winner coming just 2 mins from time.

It was a good performance by both teams and excellent work from our lads who were making their debut in the premier division. Well done boys.
