On a very warm lunchtime start in Murt Scott Park, conditions needed to be managed well by both teams. Ballyhar started well going forward until camp got a corner with 10mins gone which was floated to back corner and headed in to make it 0-1. Jamie O’Brien was called on to keep camp within a goal as he brought off a great save low down from close range. The back 4 of Diarmuid Casey, Ryan Quilter, Brendán Allman and Nico Newman, kept closing down Camps chances and limited their shots, until a long range effort found the top corner to make it 0-2. Camp struck again to make It 0-3 before halftime.
The 2nd half started well with both forwards of Jack Duggan(u13s) and Dylan Fitzgerald both getting chances. It wasn’t until halfway into the half ballyhar had 2 players in Daniel Duggan and Alan Mortak get to the game to freshen up tried legs. Midfield of Jack Kelly, Ryan Breen, Conor Edwards and Kealan Riordan worked tirelessly to keep camp at bay in the 2nd half and probably should have had a goal to reward the team’s effort. It wasn’t until the death, that camp broke to finish the game 0-4.
Well done to the visitors and best of luck to camp in the remainder of their games.
Massive thanks to all the 15’s who have helped this season and Jack Duggan today for staying after he just played to give the 16’s 11 to start games.
