Our U16s welcomed Camp Juniors to Murt Scott Park on Sunday morning with the visitors taking all the 3 points on a scoreline that doesn't quite reflect the game.
Camp got out of the blocks fast and scored within 3 minutes, but Ballyhar grew into the game as the half progressed and were unlucky not to equalise on more than a few occasions. There was some great work down both wings by Lee Cirillo and Anthony Cremin, but the Camp backline and keeper kept their attempts out. Camp always looked dangerous, and despite Ballyhar having some great spells, Camp increased their lead with 2 well taken headers before the break. H/T 3 0
The 2nd half started with Ballyhar pushing forward and creating more chances, only for their keeper to pull off a string of great saves from Marcus Clifford and Anthony Cremin. But it was Camp that would score next and the former Premier side never looked back from here. To their credit, our lads kept battling and were rewarded with 3 goals late in the game, 2 from Anthony Cremin and 1 for Marcus Clifford, but in the end Camp ran out comfortable winners on the day.
Along with the scorers, the best on the day for Ballyhar were Lee Cirillo and Eoghan O'Sullivan.
