Our 16’s played a very tough game in Murt Scott park on Sunday afternoon against Mastergeeha side who put it well up to us.
Geeha took the lead after a break from midfield fell kindly to their forward who finished nicely 0-1. Ballyhar rallied and got a deserved goal when the ball fell kindly for Noel O’Sullivan to make it 1-1 before the break. H/T 1-1
The 2nd half was back and forth by both teams, where geeha took full advantage of a free kick outside box to make it 1-2 with 20 mins to go. Ballyhar got a little more control of ball and pushed forward and got just rewards when Jamie Murphy was fouled inside the box to give ballyhar the chance of an equaliser. Murphy stepped up to make it 2-2 with 10 mins left. The final say in the game wasn’t until injury time where ballyhar had a free kick floated into the box by Ryan Quilter and was headed home by Daragh Cornally at the back post. F/T 3-2
This was a game where it could easily have slipped away, but fair play to the boys who never gave in till the final whistle.
