U17 Cup Quarter-final: St Brendan's Park 5 Ballyhar Dynamos 2

Our U17's season came crashing to a halt on Sunday as they were knocked out of the Cup, but the final score line doesn't tell the true story of a well contested game.

It was level at 2-2 at halftime after Ballyhar came from behind twice to equalise with goals from Eugene Daniel and Robert Kelly. Ballyhar had the better of the second half but unfortunatly missed a few chances to hit the front. That left the door open for Park to stay in it and they took their chance when it arrived and went 3-2 up. With 15 minutes to go, Ballyhar pushed hard for a goal to bring them level again but ended up conceding 2 more late goals in injury time.

It was a tough one for the lads who deserve great credit for all their efforts but just couldn't find the net when it mattered. Best on the day were Colm Riordan, Michael Fitzgerald, Padraig Regan and Eoin Walshe.

This brings an end to our U17's season with plenty of good displays to look back on and a definite improvement made by a number of the squad. We look forward to hopefully seeing the lads break through at senior level in the coming seasons. Well done to all the lads and management on what was a good season.
