U17 Division 1: Killarney Athletic B 0 - Ballyhar 4

U17 Division 1: Killarney Athletic B 0 - Ballyhar 4

Our U17s took home a precious 3 points on Saturday afternoon after a convincing win against Athletic B.

After a scrappy start, Ballyhar started to get the better of their hosts through the hard running and determination of Jayden Muj. Captain Ross Lally, Tom Costelloe, and Sean Brosnan were a driving force in midfield, while full-backs Conor Regan and Jamie Fleming held down the flanks at the back. With Athletic trying to play a high line for most of the game, it was always a big risk with Jayden & Lee Cirillo chasing down everything. And it was Cirillo who got on the scoresheet 1st with a great run down the left, he did well to beat the keeper on his inside post. 5 mins later Jayden made it 2, after threatening on 2 occasions, he broke through the home defence, had his initial shot blocked by the Keeper, but made no mistake with the rebound. 0-2

Ballyhar were well in control at this point after Athletic were reduced to 10 men for a 2nd yellow card. We added a 3rd before halftime from a Ross Lally corner, with Jayden getting his 2nd after Athletic failed to deal with it. H/T 0-3

The 2nd half saw plenty of good chances for Ballyhar, but the Athletic keeper made some excellent stops. The only goal of the half came from an excellent strike from Ross Lally, who found the bottom corner with 5 mins left. F/T 0-4

A well needed lift and good performance by this hard working bunch of lads. Lots of great displays around the pitch, but man of the match has to go to Jaden Muj, for his 2 goals and tireless hard work.
