The youths came into this game in good form having got 2 wins and one draw in the last 4 games, but Iveragh are in the top division and would prove to be tough.
Despite being short numbers and only having 13 due to injury and sickness, Ballyhar started on the front foot. Micheal Fitzgerald did well to create a half chance, with his shot from the edge of the box saved by the keeper. Halfway through the first half Iveragh took control of the game and had a purple patch scoring 2 quickfire goals. H/T 2-0
Ballyhar came out firing after half time, creating many chances. 10 minutes into the second half a Robert Kelly cross from a corner fell to Colm Riordan who layed it off to Micheal Fitzgerald at the edge of the box who smashed it in to the top left corner giving the keeper no chance. 1-2 Ballyhar stayed on top but got caught against the run of play on the counter and the Iveragh attacker who was dangerous all game slotted home to restore their 2 goal lead. 1-3 Ballyhar responded well and got another goal from a corner when Eugene Daniel volleyed the ball in from close range 2-3. Ballyhar again went on the attack and got a deserved equaliser from a corner when, a Colm Riordan flick on at the front post was tapped in by Luke Henderson. 3-3 Ballyhar stayed on top with Luke Henderson narrowly missing from a rebound from a Odhran O Neill shot. The next goal was vital and unfortunately Iveragh got it in controversial fashion, when the Iveragh attacker was played through and scored but arguably could easily been offside. 3-4 Ballyhar had a great chance to draw it again through Michael O'Sullivan but the keeper saved his header from a free kick well. For the final quarter Ballyhar threw everything at the visitors, and with everyone piling forward, they got caught with the Iveragh attacker slotting the final goal home. F/T 3-5
Best for ballyhar was Rian Brosnan, Odhran O'Neill, Michael O'Sullivan, Eoin Walshe and Colm Riordan
