The points were shared at a sunny George O'Callaghan Park between two competitive neighbouring sides in the first league outing of the new season.

The game may not have produced any goals but still had plenty of action with the two keepers on top in their areas. Padraig O'Connor, Patrick O'Connor & James Horgan tested the island keeper at various stages throughout the game but failed to find the bet. While Castleisland hit the woodwork and also found Trevor O'Shea hard to beat in the Ballyhar goal.
