On a nice evening in Tralee, Ballyhar battled against a very good Castlegregory side. With 4 youths in team, the boys did extremely well and held their own for most of the first half. But on 35mins Castlegregory broke the deadlock to take the lead, and within 5 mins struck again to make it 2-0. Ballyhar had chances across the first 45 but just didn’t get the break through. H/T 20
In the 2nd half Castle had a few half chances which could have added to score, only to find Rian Brosnan in good form between the posts. Mike Daly worked tirelessly up top all game and the back 4 gave it their all to keep Castlegregory out, but unfortunatley, no man in blue was able to find the back of the home sides net either. Then with the final kick of game, Castle broke the line 1 last time to finish the game out at 3-0.
All the lads came off the pitch after giving 100% and it was great to see the youth players contributing to a tough game, with Michèal Fitzgerald, Rob Kelly, Micheal O'Sullivan and Rian Brosnan all doing well. Mike Daly, Trevor O'Shea, Alan Moriarty, Danny Cronin, Dan Shea, Ger Fitzgerald, Declan and Patrick O'Connor and Jordan O'Connor all played very well too. Well done to all 13 who made it possible to play the game.
