Senior Mens Division 2: Classic FC B 3 - Ballyhar Dynamos 3

With a 7.45 kick-off under lights in Mounthawk Park, Ballyhar took on Classic FC B on Saturday night. right from the off Ballyhar put classic under pressure, creating a lot of chances. Unfortunately Ballyhar failed to hit the target which proved to be costly, when Classic hit on the break nearing the end of the half to make it 1-0 at halftime.

The 2nd half started the same way with Ballyhar pushing Classic back again and managed to get an equaliser when Patrick O'Connor broke the defence to make it 1-1. Classic then rang the changes with a few subs and with a cross into the box, slotted the ball easily home to make it 2-1. From the kickoff Ballyhar went on the front foot again and from a scramble in the box following a corner, Patrick O'Connor found the net again to make it all square at 2-2. With both teams looking for a winner, Classic once again took the lead with 15mins left to play to make it 3-2. With Ballyhar down a goal it was time to go for it and they introduced some fresh legs. This put Classic on the back foot again and after Ballyhar had a few dangerous corners which came close, the pressure paid off with only 2mins left on the clock as Gearoid Long headed home to make 3-3.

On reflection, it was a good point to take when Ballyhar fell behind on each occasion in a very sporting game. Great character shown by Ballyhar to fight till the end.
best on the night were Dan O'Shea, Declan O'Connor, Niall O'Donughue and Patrick O'Connor played well.
