It was a frustrating morning for our spirited U12 Blue team, who had lots of possession and created the most chances, yet came out on the wrong side of the result.

After a solid exchange from both teams in the opening half Ballyhar had began to shade things a little and you felt that a goal was coming. Unfortunately it went to MEK from a long range free kick that found the roof of the net. Ballyhar continued to create chances and finally Alex Finn got the goal they deserved after good work from Adam Fleming in midfield who fed him out on the left and managed to get in a shot that flew just inside the keepers right hand post.

Fionn Clifford had marshalled the defence well with Daithi Allen making a number of great runs and tackles. But again MEK got their noses in front when a long range shot found the back of the net after good work down the left hand side. Ballyhar continued to struggle in front of goal with more chances falling just wide of either post with Callum Templeman, Fleming, Finn, Allen and Emma Harrington also unlucky not to find the net.

In the end it wasn't to be but no one watching could fault them for effort. Well done to MEK on a hard fought win.
