U13 Division 2: LB Rovers B 1 - Ballyhar B 7

U13 Division 2: LB Rovers B 1 - Ballyhar B 7

Our U13 B Team had a superb performance on the pristine playing surface of Ardfert Astro.

Ballyhar started brightly as they passed the ball well around the middle of the park. Using every inch to their advantage. The back four of Lachlan Leslie (capt on the day) Ewan Myers, Paddy Hurley and Diarmuid Fitzgerald were robust and solid in everything they did, as they kept the LB attack very quiet. Evan Greensmyth in goal had very little to do but made some good clearances when called upon.

In midfield Bryan Evans was pulling the strings all game with Jack Cooper and Jack Sheehy proving width on the flanks. Ciaran Ferris giving solid cover in the CDM role.

Up front tireless running from Sean Evans and Tadhg Fitzgerald meant the LB defence could not play out from the back. Matthew Hickey came in for the second half in place of Paddy Hurley at centre back and made a few important clearances.

Goals came thick and fast in this game. First up, after 15mins, was Jack Cooper who got the final touch after a Brian Evans cross was flicked on by Tadhg Fitzgerald. Next up was Bryan Evans on scored a beautiful free kick from the edge of the box after 18mins.
Step up Jack Sheehy who got 2 goals in quick succession both from Tadhg Fitzgerald crosses.

Half time : 4-0 to Ballyhar.

Ballyhar continued to dominate and had some good chances that brought the best out of the LB keeper. It was Ballyhar who struck next after Bryan Evans was brought down on the edge of the box. He dusted himself off to score in the top corner from the resulting free kick. Ballyhar were flying now and fighting to win every ball back with Cooper combining well with Fitzgerald on the right side of the pitch. On the left side Leslie was blocking and clearing everything.

As the game progressed Ballyhar continued to grow in confidence and  Fitzgerald scored to make it 6-0.

LB pulled one back after a great save by Greensmyth but the dangerous LB free kick rebounded to their striker who slotted home. Tadhg Fitzgerald scored one more to complete the scoring. F/T 7-1 to Ballyhar.
