Tralee Dynamos 2-2 Ballyhar Dynamos

In the battle of the Dynamos Tralee hosted Ballyhar and the game lived up to its name with high levels of energy on display from both teams.

The Ballyhar boys started well with some lovely interplay on the left side with full back Jack Sheehy and Elliot Lyne on the wing, combining well.  In the middle of the park Bryan Evans and Fabian Mortek were chasing, harassing and controlling the pace of the game. However, it was on the right where the break came with goalkeeper and Captain Evan Greensmyth finding the impressive right back Diarmuid Fitzgerald who played in his brother Tadhg Fitzgerald who in turn played a through ball to the hard working Tomás Bolger who finished to the back of the net on 27 mins. Sean Evans was putting in a great shift up front and set up his strike partner Tadhg Fitzgerald on two occasions only for the Tralee defence to foil the chances.  The centre back pairing of Brian McMahon and Ewan Myers were rock solid and dealing with any attacks. H/T 0-1

The start of the second half saw a slight change of tempo as Tralee came into the game and levelled after just 3 mins. 1-1
However, Ballyhar pushed back and after winning a few corners the 2nd goal came. Following a defensive clearance, the well positioned Brian McMahon, struck what has to be a Puskas award contender from all of 30 yards. McMahon kept his eye on the ball and struck a half volley that dipped under the crossbar to screams from the onlooking supporters. 1-2
Tralee responded and after a mazy dribble led to a goal mouth scramble, the ball was tapped in for a Tralee equaliser. 2-2 The lack of subs for Ballyhar played a part in the latter stages as tiredness began to show but they held out to secure a point. An even game played in good spirits finished 2-2. Neither team can complain with a fair result.

Best for Ballyhar were …Elliot Lyne who ran his socks off, Diarmuid Fitzgerald with solid defending, Ewan Myers great positioning at centre back and Brian McMahon with a goal of the season contender.
