U13 Premier: Iveragh Utd 3 Ballyhar Dynamos 7

U13 Premier: Iveragh Utd 3 Ballyhar Dynamos 7

Our U13's made it back to back Premier wins on Saturday, as they came away from Caherciveen with 3 points.

Played in ideal conditions, it still took a while for the lads to get to grips with the astro surface, with not a lot of fluid passing in the opening 10 mins. Ballyhar then clicked into gear and worked the ball much better, stretching the Iveragh defence on a couple of occasions. The deadlock was broken in spectacular style when Adam Fleming struck a sweet shot from about 30yrds out that went over the keeper and into net. That ramped up the lads confidence and more chances soon followed. Killian O'Sullivan put one on a plate for Alex Finn after a run and cross down the right for 2-0. Daniel Ryan, who was industrious as ever, linked up well with Callum Templeman down the left and was unlucky to have a few shots saved by the busy Iveragh keeper. Fleming got his 2nd soon after to make it 3-0 before Iveragh got a spectacular goal of their own. An accidental handball outside the box led to a free kick that was blasted into the top corner to make it 3-1 at half-time.

Ballyhar needed to start the 2nd half well and came straight out of the blocks to score another goal through Templeman. 4-1. There was still fight in Iveragh though, and they gave Ballyhar some scary moments in a 10 min purple patch as goals flew in at both ends of the pitch. First Iveragh made it 2-4 before Patrick O'Connor restored the 3 goal cushion. Then a corner from Fleming led to Finn finding the net for his 2nd and Ballyhar's 6th goal as they looked to kill the game off. A honorable mention must go to the Iveragh keeper who did fantastic to keep the score down, as chance after chance went a begging. Iveragh then got their 3rd goal before Finn poked home his hat-trick following a scramble in the Iveragh goalmouth.  F/T 3-7

It was another great team performance with some nice passing football on show, but the best player on the pitch and MOTM had to be Adam Fleming.

Thanks to Iveragh for a very sporting game.
