U14 Cup/Shield Preliminary Rd 1: Ballyhar 5 Camp Juniors 2

Our U14's hosted Campmon Saturday morning hoping to continue their great unbeaten form this season. The lads started the game really well and put Camp under pressure right from the off. From a short kick out, Ballyhar pressed and turned ball over, setting up Aran Moriarty to slot the ball home for the opener. Ballyhar kept passing the ball well and when Isaac Vickers made a great run down right on 15 mins his left footed shot found the net for Ballyhar's 2nd. Aran Moriarty then added to his tally with a headed goal from a beautiful pin point cross from Conor Edwards. On 28 mins Daniel Downes made it 4 as he ran onto a nice through ball, rounded the keeper and calmly sloted it home. From the restart, Ballyhar then got caught out, as Camp played a long ball over the defence and slotted it past our keeper to give them some life just before halftime. H/T 4-1

Camp grew in confidence just after the break, and got their 2 nd goal from a free kick which was turned home on 55 mins. But Ryan Breen who done a great job breaking up play in central midfield, got his just rewards on 63 mins, when he finished the scoring to give the lads a 5-2 win.

All 14 got great game time to progress to the next round of the cup, and it was great to see them work hard for each other.

Well done boys.
