U16 Division 1: St Brendans Park 1 Ballyhar 4

Hoping to get off to a solid start, Ballyhar took a while to settle into the game and the surface, but soon got a hold of things. Park threatened early down the left hand side with both Marcus Clifford and Jamie Fleming playing excellent to snuff out any early attempts. Ross Lally looked to impose himself in midfield with the help of Patrick Levy and Eoghan O'Sullivan, while Davin Quilter, Jim O'Dowd and Anthony Cremin linked up well in attack. And it was the Ballyhar forwards who made the first impact when O'Dowd opened the scoring on 15 mins. 5 mins later Park equalised, when an attack down the right was pulled back and caught Ballyhar napping, with the Park striker ghosting in at the back post. Ballyhar continued to set the pace of the game and enjoyed some good spells of possession, and on 35 mins won a free kick just outside the left hand corner of the Park box. It was driven goalwards by Cremin and took a deflection of a defenders leg and looped over the keeper into the net. 2-1 Ballyhar. That's the way it stayed until halftime.

The 2nd half saw Ballyhar introduce Conor Giles for his first run out and the impressive Lee Cirillo who made an instant impact down the left. It was a great run by Cirillo that had Park on their heels, and winning a corner just 5 mins in. Cremin delivered a great ball into the box that Davin Quilter headed to the back of the net. On 45 mins, Cirillo again rampaged down the wing with his cross eventually finding Cremin around the penalty spot, who swept the ball home for Ballyhar's 4th goal. The lads play in the 2nd half was outstanding with the back line of O Regan, Long, Clifford and Fleming never looking under threat. It was a comfortable win in the end with the bench getting a good run out.  Best for Ballyhar were Jamie Fleming, Ross Lally, Anthony Cremin and a captain's performance from Marcus Clifford.
